Sorry, but that's the simple truth on the internet. You can have the greatest website in the world, but if people don't know about it, all you'll ever see in your visitor stats is ***crickets chirping***
Odds are, there are thousands of people out there who would LOVE your site, would BOOKMARK it, would visit every day and tell their friends about it....
If they knew about it in the first place.
And that's why traffic exchanges are a good thing. Why turn down a chance at getting someone to look at your site?

I totally agree with that comment, but I had to give up my idealistic ways and joined the BE. It kind of seems degrading at first. I'm hoping the results pay off. You seem to have some good insight into how it all works, so I'm looking forward to following some of your advice.

Good point, although having a personal website should be for your own entertainment it is nice to have contact with other people who have the same interests. Exchanges are good unless you are getting useless posts like "nice site" or "hi" lol those are very annoying.
Hey I actually said that and you didn't give me credit. How is anyone going to find my blog if you don't tell people who wrote what you quoted?

As far as I'm concerned, there's only one thing worse than doing things like BlogExplosion to get blog traffic - and that's not getting any blog traffic.
Last week I set up a message board for Blogexplosion issues... If you want to read more on the subject I think it's a pretty good source.
